About Benjamin
I am fully bilingual in French and English. I was born in Paris and have lived in London for most of my life. I am also proficient in German, which has given me a broader perspective on both language learning and teaching.
I graduated from the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in South Kensington with highest honours. I am currently on a gap year and will begin the dual-degree LLB Law with French Law programme at UCL in September 2026.
Alongside my academic background, I have a strong interest in the humanities, particularly philosophy and literature. I am an avid reader and enjoy engaging with a wide range of ideas, which I incorporate into my teaching where relevant. I am naturally curious and always open to new perspectives and experiences.
Outside of academics, I enjoy playing basketball and have recently taken up karate. These interests reflect my discipline, consistency, and enthusiasm, qualities I also bring to my teaching.

My approach to tutoring is centred on conversation-based learning, complemented by traditional tools such as grammar books and dictionaries to ensure a strong linguistic foundation. I believe students make the most progress when they are actively engaged, so I tailor each lesson to their individual interests, whether that be economics, literature, philosophy, making learning both relevant and enjoyable.
I also have a strong interest in the classical humanities, as well as a solid background in French literature and history, which I am happy to incorporate into lessons for students who wish to explore the language through its cultural and intellectual traditions.
Lessons typically last between 45 minutes and one hour, depending on the student’s needs and preferences.
I am an experienced tutor and have supported French students in preparing for the brevet des collèges (the French middle school final examinations), giving me valuable insight into effective teaching strategies.
My lessons are open to all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, including those with a particular interest in French literature or culture.
