Hey there, I’m Kernisha!
Just a little bit about me.
My journey in education has been anything but traditional. Throughout my educational journey, I have experienced both the challenges and rewards that can come with overcoming personal and academic obstacles. These experiences have shaped my belief that every student is capable of success when given the right support, encouragement and opportunities to thrive.
My passion for education has led me to become an incoming Trainee History Teacher at the University of Oxford. Alongside my studies, I have gained experience mentoring and supporting young people from a range of backgrounds, including students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These experiences have strengthened my commitment to creating inclusive learning environments where students feel valued, understood and empowered to achieve their goals.
I am particularly passionate about History because it helps us understand the world around us, think critically and engage with diverse perspectives. I love helping students discover that History is more than just dates and facts—it’s about people, ideas and the events that have shaped our world.
Having experienced the ups and downs of education myself, I understand that success looks different for every student. My aim is to help learners develop confidence, curiosity and the skills they need to progress in a way that feels meaningful and achievable for them.
Every learner is unique, and I take pride in adapting my approach to meet individual needs. My goal is not only to support students academically, but also to help them develop the confidence, resilience and independent learning skills that will benefit them long after our lessons have ended.

My lessons are tailored to the individual needs, goals and learning style of each student. As an incoming Trainee History Teacher at the University of Oxford with specialist experience supporting students with SEND, I create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop both their subject knowledge and confidence.
I believe that effective tutoring is about more than simply improving grades. Through my experience mentoring young people, I understand the importance of building self-belief, encouraging curiosity and helping students develop the skills needed to become independent learners.
Whether you are preparing for GCSEs, A Levels, university applications or simply looking to strengthen your understanding of History, I offer engaging, structured lessons designed to help you achieve your goals. My approach combines academic rigour with patience, encouragement and personalised support to ensure every student can thrive.
