About Tei
Hello. My name is Tei and I am currently a rising senior at Pacific Academy taking the IB diploma program. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a deep love for science and math — whether I was building things, solving puzzles, or exploring how the world works, STEM has always excited me. That lifelong curiosity has grown into a genuine desire to share my knowledge with others. Having firsthand experience navigating the IB curriculum, I understand the challenges students face — and I know how to overcome them with the right mindset and strategy. My goal is to make science and math less intimidating and more approachable, using clear explanations, proven study techniques, and personalized support tailored to each student. Whether you're preparing for IB exams, catching up on difficult topics, or striving for top marks, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. I take pride in being patient, reliable, and clear in my teaching style. I've helped peers and younger students gain confidence in class, and I'd love to help you do the same.

As a high-achieving IB Diploma student with 7s in Math, Physics, and Chemistry, I specialize in helping students understand complex STEM concepts with clarity, structure, and real-world connections. My tutoring is designed not only to boost academic performance but also to build lasting confidence and independent problem-solving skills.
My Teaching Methodology:
I believe that effective tutoring combines clear explanations, guided practice, and active learning. I break down challenging topics into manageable steps, use visual aids and analogies to deepen understanding, and reinforce learning through practice questions tailored to the student's pace and goals.
I also integrate exam strategies, past paper walkthroughs, and feedback-based reviews to help students approach assessments with confidence and precision.
A Typical Lesson Structure for me when I tutor students:
Quick Review (5–10 min): Recap of previous concepts to check retention and link to new topics
Concept Teaching (20–25 min): Step-by-step explanation with visuals, examples, and interactive discussion
Guided Practice (20–25 min): Work through questions together, focusing on application and reasoning
Independent Practice / Review (5–10 min): Timed practice, exam-style questions, or homework review
Feedback & Plan (5 min): Recap, questions, and personalized next steps
