About Anthony

As a high school senior and soon to be college freshman, the SAT is something I have far too much experience in, as not even 2 years ago I went through the same obstacles my current students go through. Understanding the high school SAT experience, my class strives to teach a newer, refined approach to the SAT based on my journey in which I improved my score by nearly 150 points. I am also an advanced math tutor in the Bay Area working for the Russian School of Mathematics, and certainly specialize in mathematics, scoring a near perfect 790 on my SAT. My experience coupled with the relevancy the SAT has had on my life makes me the perfect tutor; I combine my knowledge with practice and repetition to ensure your success.

About the lesson

The first time I ever took the SAT was during the middle of my junior year of high school, in which I scored a 1420. Not bad - but with ambitious dreams of getting into a good college, I thought I could improve my score by at least 100 points. I spent hours every day doing reading practice problems, hired a personal tutor, and took practice test after practice test to finally achieve a score of 1540, placing me in the 99th percentile of test takers. After months of consistent effort and studying, I realized that the average high schooler gets stuck in a trap in regards to the SAT; without the proper training and understanding of the test, the very things I learned throughout my journey, achieving success is near impossible. In my lessons, I couple my knowledge and experience with repetition through understanding my student's weak points, consistently working on practice problems, and comprehending the different types of problems on the test. I believe in growth through consistency and repetition, which is why I offer my students countless tactics that helped me improve my score as well as homework after every session to ensure my student's proficiency in whichever areas they need aid in.
