About Michael
I am a life-long student of the humanities and wish to become an educator in the future. I received a double BA in History and Humanities from the University of California, Sacramento in 2016. I currently am an independent researcher in philosophical hermeneutics and working toward attaining a research grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for publication in this subject in 2024. I have a passion for philosophy and literature and seek to offer a perspective which pulls from these two complimentary traditions in order to promote the most insightful and rich investigation of the human condition possible.

I am a strong advocate of educational training through dialectical practice and conversation. After discovering what specific subject or textual source the student is having trouble with and seeking further understanding of, I will read said material and determine if a comprehensive and effective lesson plan can be formulated to meet the students needs. A initial free consultation will follow where the structure of this proposed plan will be discussed and my capacity to explicate the material will be expressed and justified for the student.
Material that I feel confident teaching will fall under the umbrella of Continental philosophy and include the subjects of German Idealism, phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, and deconstruction.
