About Vance
I've taught part-time for four years, both as a private tutor and an instructor of laboratory-based chemistry classes. Lectures are a helpful tool to guide student learning, but examples worked through by students provide the necessary immersion in problem solving for full comprehension.

Focusing on chemistry as a dimension of perceiving the world, students will be encouraged to not only understand what chemicals are and how they interact, but to ground their mastery in the foundations of our knowledge: how we discovered and continue to investigate these phenomena, as well as the limits of contemporary science. Students in high-school level through BS-level chemistry course are welcome.
