About Laura
I have been teaching for seven years and go to The George Washington University. I have taught 20 students. I have been playing violin since I was seven and have been in many orchestras as well. One orchestra, CYSO, toured in Europe.

I have been teaching violin for seven years and have taught ages ranging from 4-adult. I teach all levels from beginner to advanced. I teach in an encouraging, supportive manner and work with the student's individual needs. I focus on showing the student how to practice and correct posture. I try to make each lesson different than the last to keep students excited about playing violin.
I always make sure students start with a solid understanding of theory and start each lesson with learning or working on a scale or arpeggio. Then I move into learning or continuing working on a piece while always incorporating correct posture.
I always explain to the student how they should practice at home and review what we worked on at the end of the lesson with the student and parents. Lessons range from 30-60 minutes and are typically once a week. I also am happy to do in home lessons.
