About Billie
I am an experienced piano tutor with over 6 years of teaching students from school, college, and working professional backgrounds. I am passionate about helping students enjoy piano while building technical skills and musical understanding.
My teaching approach emphasises clear communication, patience, and personalised instruction. I create lesson plans tailored to each student’s abilities and goals, focusing on fundamentals like finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, and sight-reading, while gradually introducing advanced skills. I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to provide students with a complete musical education.
Lessons are creative and engaging, often including song practice, improvisation, and performance opportunities. I excel at simplifying complex concepts, helping students overcome challenges, and encouraging consistent practice. My aim is to provide a positive, supportive, and inspiring environment where students feel motivated to explore music and achieve their full potential.

My approach to teaching piano focuses on nurturing creativity and self-expression. I believe that music is an art form that should be explored freely, and I encourage students to improvise, compose, and experiment with various musical styles. Through open communication, I listen carefully to each student’s interests, aspirations, and challenges, which allows me to design lessons that are motivating and customised to their goals.
Flexibility is key to my methodology. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust the lesson structure, pace, and teaching style according to their needs. Some students may prefer a structured approach, while others thrive through exploration and experimentation. I aim to balance these approaches to ensure consistent progress and enjoyment.
Along with piano, I include lessons in music theory, sight-reading, rhythm practice, and ear training. By connecting technical skills with creative expression, students gain a well-rounded musical education that develops both their abilities and confidence. My ultimate goal is to inspire students to explore music deeply, enjoy the learning process, and express themselves fully as pianists.
