About Marian
A member of the National Tutoring Association, and an experienced long-term tutor with references available upon request, I am someone who brings both measured success, and vested interest to the position of tutor. In addition, I am also a fully vetted, fingerprinted, and background checked employee, certified to work with both minor-aged students and individuals of all ages with special needs due to the nature of my standard work position.
Overall, I am a creative and fun person who loves to read, and write, and share that love with the students I have the honor of working with!

Hi, I am Marian. I am a 30-something creative non fiction author, who graduated Magma Cum Laude, with degrees in both English and Creative Writing. I have been tutoring for 5+ years, and have experience working with both neurotypical and neurodivergent students, ages 5-18.
I offer flexible, weekday scheduling, as well as both local, in-person sessions (in-student home, or in-library), and virtual. I am currently accepting 1-3 new students, aged 5-18.
I offer a student-centered approach, blending your student’s interests with their school curriculum in order to foster a stronger relationship between them, and ELA as a whole. I believe in making ELA not only approachable, but enjoyable, and find that this is best done by showing students how versatile the subject truly is. Working within their interests and strengths, allows them to see how so much of what they love (video games, TV shows, influencer channels, etc.) is built on the bones of strong ELA skills.
My methods have seen years of proven, measurable success, including, but not limited to, overall grade increases, acceptance into honors and AP level courses, and collegiate scholarship awards. I look forward to speaking with you, and helping your student succeed and grow!
