About Julian

With 10 years of experience teaching ESL, I have worked extensively with high school and college students, helping them build the language skills and confidence needed to excel academically and professionally.

My teaching philosophy emphasises personalised learning, with each lesson tailored to the student’s learning style, goals, and pace. I combine grammar and vocabulary instruction with reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice, using interactive exercises and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and practical.

My approach also emphasises critical thinking, communication strategies, and confidence-building, allowing students to participate actively and independently in academic and everyday situations.

Over the years, I have successfully supported learners in achieving measurable improvements in fluency, comprehension, and overall performance, while fostering a genuine enthusiasm for learning English.

About the lesson

I teach ESL using a C³P framework: Creativity, Communication, Compassion, and Problem-solving. Creativity is nurtured through interactive storytelling, project-based exercises, and role-playing that inspire students to explore language imaginatively and express themselves confidently.

Communication is central to my methodology. I incorporate discussions, debates, and collaborative tasks that enhance fluency, comprehension, and communication skills. Compassion ensures lessons are student-centred, with personalised support, guidance, and encouragement to foster confidence and motivation.

Problem-solving is embedded in lessons via real-life scenarios, analytical exercises, and practical challenges, enabling learners to apply English skills in meaningful contexts. I also teach complementary subjects such as writing techniques, reading comprehension, and vocabulary enrichment for a well-rounded academic experience.

Through this approach, students develop English proficiency, creativity, empathy, and problem-solving abilities, preparing them for success in diverse contexts.
