About Mae
I am an experienced violin tutor with 9 years of teaching practice, working with around 300 students including high school students, college learners, and adults. My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning simple, structured, and effective, as I believe students learn best when lessons are clear and well-organized.
I pay close attention to fundamentals such as posture, bowing technique, rhythm, and tone quality, ensuring that students develop strong skills. I break down complex techniques into small, easy steps so students can learn with confidence. I also guide students in building regular practice habits that support steady improvement.
One of my notable achievements is helping students progress from beginners to confident violin players. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable and motivated.

My teaching style for violin focuses on communication, adaptability, and practical application of musical concepts. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, ensuring that both technical and expressive skills are developed. I emphasize posture, bowing, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression while encouraging creativity and exploration.
I use real-life examples such as learning favorite songs, performing in small settings, and understanding the emotional aspects of music to make lessons relevant and engaging. In addition to violin, I include music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic keyboard skills to strengthen overall musicianship.
My aim is to create a motivating and supportive environment where students feel confident, progress steadily, and develop a lifelong love for music.
