About Sadaf
Some people think that teaching is a monotonous job. They argue that it’s boring since it’s the repetition of the same concept and has nothing new to add. But I completely disagree with them. I am Sadaf Tabani, an Economics and Business enthusiast. I love teaching as a profession since it’s challenging, and requires great creativity. I completed my A-levels on ‘100 % merit-based scholarship’ and was a high achiever in college. Later, I pursued a BSc in Economics and Mathematics. My interest in teaching was sparked at a very young age when I started private tutoring my classmates and juniors to self-finance my studies. I explored the art of teaching when I was only 16.
In my university, I have played the role of teacher’s assistant for advanced Micro and Macroeconomics courses. I also teach the trio of Economics, Business, and Mathematics. My teaching methodology is based on linking every theory to a real-life scenario to stimulate students' interests. I demonstrate patience and tolerance while delivering my lectures. I try to inculcate two-way communication and always ensure feedback from students. I deliver my classes at a high level of energy so that the same energy can flow in my students and we can connect at a greater level. I am an extremely organized person and I always plan my lessons timely. Teaching a huge number of students both privately and in the classroom has made me extremely efficient in terms of time management. As a teacher, I always emphasize my students on paying strong attention to detail. I have witnessed how an insignificant computational error in the calculator, misinterpreting the question, or lack of direction can lead to a dramatic reduction in the overall grade of the students. I love motivational speaking and instilling hope in my students so they analyze the bright side of things and are never deprived of self-confidence.
As an Economics or Math teacher, I try to be both productively and allocatively efficient, reducing any time wastage. I work with zest and zeal, to turn meager inputs into notable outputs, implying transforming the concepts of my students and giving them a solid foundation so they can have a strong command of the subject later in the university. I am optimistic in my attitude, results-oriented, dynamic, and goal-driven. Besides this, I induce the young minds to undertake critical thinking. All in-class discussions and home assignments have marks for critically evaluating an argument. Specifically, as an Economics and Business expert, I urge students to undertake research and investigation on current scenarios. This will allow them to practically apply concepts they have studied. Economic policy formulation, social impact evaluation, strong mathematical computation are the key skills that I try to instill in my students. I recently gave assignments on the impacts of Brexit on the UK’s economy, the consequences of increased government spending during Covid, and China’s emerging superiority over the World to allow students to dig deeper and think outside the box. We take up case studies and also analyze them in class to nurture a better understanding. I construct and deliver dynamic presentations via PowerPoint, Prezi, and iMovie to engage, motivate my students. My vision behind teaching is to enhance the ability of my students to make them independent in the long run.
