About Savannah

I am an experienced violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students grow into confident, skilled, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced performers preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the highlights of my career has been helping students progress from struggling with technique, posture, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with technical skill, emotion, and expression.

My teaching emphasises technical mastery, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expression. I include music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a comprehensive musical education.

I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a supportive, inspiring, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to instil discipline, confidence, and a lifelong love for music in every student I teach.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology emphasising motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aimed at creating technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Each lesson is structured to balance technical exercises, creative exploration, and performance opportunities, tailored to the student’s skill level and goals.

Motivation is a cornerstone of my approach. I guide students in setting clear goals, tracking progress, and celebrating achievements to cultivate perseverance, self-confidence, and engagement. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive, allowing students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore musical ideas freely.

Creativity is emphasised throughout lessons. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop a personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity fosters disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, establishing habits that promote long-term growth and excellence.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a comprehensive musical foundation. This methodology nurtures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement.
