About Omkar
I am a recent graduate of Marist College Canberra and currently enrolled at the Australian National University, pursuing a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and Computer Science. I want to major in Finance, Information Systems, and possibly Data Science. Growing up, I always believed that while academic success is crucial, maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet, regular exercise, and active involvement in extracurricular activities and part-time work is equally important. During high school, I have gained valuable work experience, initially as a referee for Basketball ACT (2019-21), and currently as a lifeguard at Active Leisure Centre. My role as a lifeguard has equipped me with essential non-technical skills relevant to employment opportunities post-graduation. Specifically, I have developed strong communication, customer service, and leadership abilities, alongside the capacity to navigate the leisure center's computer systems as a swim school admin and receptionist. I am particularly passionate about pursuing a career that emphasizes Mathematics, as well as the organization of data for significant statistical analysis. I am proficient in Python programming, looking for opportunities to utilize libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for effective data visualization. I am also learning front-end web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). Other interests: Basketball, Cricket, Japanese, Guitar, Piano, Karate, Swimming, Traveling and Blogging, Surfing, Skiing, and Volunteering at St Vincent de Paul and Music Ministry. Countries I have traveled to: India, Japan, USA, Canada, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vanuatu.

In our tutoring sessions, I aim to create a supportive, collaborative and interactive learning environment. My approach involves using OneNote (having separate folders for extra worked examples, questions, and slides) to ensure that students not only grasp the fundamental concepts but also gain insight into the broader mathematical and chemical principles at play. Rote memorization is not efficient. For Japanese, I will dedicate each week to reading, writing, listening and oral practice in a 4-week cycle, ensuring students excel in all areas of language development. I look forward to meeting you all!
