About Samantha
Inspired by my mother’s Okido Yoga and TCM roots, my fathers Tai Chi and Qi Gong training, combined with my training as a performer and experience as an elite athlete, I am known to weave a unique and integrative teaching approach on and off of the mat.
I am a level 1 & 2 qualified Yoga Teacher (Purna Yoga) currently formally studying Nutrition and Sound Healing, to complement my practises. I have a BMUS in voice as well as a Level 1 & 2 in Voice Mechanics paired with a keen interest in how sound heals. I regularly hold sound baths and sound healing workshops in conjunction with "Ezense" wellbeing.
I love movement and improvising, both interests I have nurtured through full time dance training and my BA (Theater & Performance).
Although mostly freelancing, I have worked for other practises too, namely "The Melbourne Actors Guild" where I offered 4-5 classes weekly over a 6 month contract. I taught unique styles encompassing restorative, healing and flow yoga as well as yoga fitness and meditation for actors.
I specialise in 1:1 and yoga therapy and love problem solving with clients.

So what is Purna yoga?
Purna is a Sanskrit word meaning “complete.” Purna Yoga is an evolving system using a wide variety of inspiring and effective techniques to address our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Purna Yoga is my synthesis of the vastness of yoga into a format designed to help others in their quest to fulfill their dharma or life purpose.
My method:
My method begins with an "intention" set by myself and the student. I particularly love catering to the individual and pride myself on being able to 'connect' to the needs of each client. Whether you are an injured professional, uncertain, hesitant, limited or an absolute novice I will meet you on your level as my aim is to make yoga accessible to everyone! I truly do hope you can access the healing benefits of the practise, Namaste.

What connects each discipline in regards to teaching, at the heart of it all is the element of 'play' and willingness to grow. Put simply, I live by the proverb "learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere". As such, I endeavour to make learning accessible and inspiring whilst keeping students curious, engaged and willing to 'try', as that is what ultimately solidifies knowledge and nurtures the growth of the individual.

Details
In person and at studios I generally offer specialised and personalised teachings for $80. I have discounted it online to $30 for 45mins-1hour. I am also happy to gift 'Karma' sessions to those in need, whereby you 'pay as you can' to access a 35 min class:)
