About Nbuwak
Welcome, my name is Nbuwak. I'm ready to help you achieve your goals and aspirations, and I'll do my very best to make it as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience working with students at primary, secondary, and university levels. I am currently completing a PhD in Agroecology, Water, and Resilience, with a strong interdisciplinary academic background in social sciences, politics, agriculture, environment, geography and feminist epistemologies. I have nurtured and supported learners from diverse backgrounds within diverse topics. I take a student-centred, flexible, and confidence-building approach to tutoring. Every learner is unique, so I adapt my teaching style to meet your specific needs, goals, and academic background. I specialise in a wide range of topics, theories, and practices, including political science, geography, feminist epistemologies, agri-food systems, natural resource management, environmental studies, sustainability, and resilience thinking. I am a fourth-year PhD researcher in International perspectives of Agroecology, Water and Resilience. I hold a master's degree (with distinction) in the above course, as well as another master's degree in Conflict and Peace Studies, and a BSc in Agriculture. I can teach from primary school to university syllabus. I tailor my teaching to meet the students' needs, connecting theory to practice and application of theory to real-life situations. I engage students in exploring different schools of thought to enhance their critical thinking, and also encourage them to explore knowledge from diverse geographical contexts. I focus on developing a thorough understanding of the syllabus, gaining knowledge to boost confidence, rather than relying solely on memorisation. Connecting theory to practical application is key, so lessons are interactive and focus on learning through hands-on experience. Students retain up to 90% of what they know when they actively participate and 'learn by doing,' compared to just 30% when they only hear or see the information. We will work on a teaching plan together to help you gain retentive knowledge, covering everything you need to feel confident for that important test or exam.
