About Karen
Pacing feels most effective when we break down challenging movements into smaller, logical units. You will find that my feedback is direct, precise, and supportive of your unique learning style. We address tuning and maintenance alongside essential ear training exercises. Grade exam prep remains a core part of our routine for students who require structured testing.
I keep the environment focused so that teens and kids stay engaged with their progress. Improvisation and soloing practice allow for creative freedom within our technical framework. We move steadily through your repertoire to ensure consistent improvement. My goal is to ensure you feel confident in your playing.

Technical facility on the guitar involves mastery of acoustic technique and electric technique. I have taught 198 students over 13 years of experience.
My work includes guiding learners through improvisation, soloing, and complex chord transitions. Performing in a Canadian chamber ensemble provides a unique perspective on tone and maintenance. I ensure that reading tabs and understanding modes becomes second nature. These foundations remain quiet and reliable.
