About Aviana
"Holding a Certificate in Traditional Music from the Old Town School of Folk Music might suggest I only care about theory, but my true focus remains the raw human voice. Learning by ear in Newfoundland taught me that singing is an organic extension of conversation rather than a rigid set of mechanical rules. I use this perspective to help intermediate and returning learners discover their natural head and chest voice without unnecessary strain.
My 10 years of experience allow me to address common hurdles like vibrato control and performance anxiety with a kind, unhurried touch. I enjoy helping self-taught singers move past plateau points by introducing consistent warm-up exercises that make sense for their vocal range. The traditions I learned as a child continue to guide how I listen to every note you sing."

"Many singers struggle when their throat feels tight during high passages because they are trying to force the sound instead of letting the breath support the note. We start our time together by finding a relaxed physical posture that allows your chest voice to resonate fully before moving into more technical work.
My 10 years of experience at the Old Town School of Folk Music have shown me that vocal confidence is built through repetition and small, intentional adjustments. We will work through specific exam preparation or performance pieces by breaking them down into manageable phrases that highlight your natural strengths.
I integrate warm up exercises and vibrato control techniques that reflect the folk traditions I have practiced for a decade. Keeping the environment supportive helps you stay focused on the melody rather than worrying about mistakes. You will leave with a better understanding of how your body produces sound across different registers."
