About Karen
I have a successful track record delivering online and in-person courses to undergraduates seeking to fulfill foreign language credit requirements. I have several years of experience tutoring high school and university students to prepare them for papers, quizes and exams. My students achieve improved results after consulting with me for guidance. My formal training helps me to guide students so that they master the skills needed to master the Spanish language.

I believe that the role of the tutor is to serve as a facilitator, not the lecturer of the Spanish course. The goal of teaching is make students independent users of the language. As such, I expect students to come to tutoring sessions prepared, having read the grammar and completed pre-homework assignments in advance so that time is devoted to practicing and communicating in Spanish. My student evaluations indicate that students find me accessible. I am readily available to answer questions on a daily basis (including weekends and evenings). Students also indicate that I am enthusiastic, personable, positive, and motivating.

All of my pricing is based on tutoring offered via WebEx, Zoom or Microsoft Office Teams. I have access to all three platforms for unlimited amounts of time with screen sharing capabilities.
