About Leeanne

I am a passionate people-person who loves helping others reach their full potential.
Living and working abroad has opened my eyes, mind, and heart in ways I could never have imagined. Living in countries such as Laos has made me much more compassionate and empathetic to the needs of others, as well as deeply grateful for the opportunities I have been given. Having the opportunity to help build schools and toilet blocks, plant rice, and support locals to build their own small businesses has been an absolute privilege.
Family means everything to me, and I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive whānau. My husband and I have two beautiful children in their 20s who are now successfully living their own independent lives.
Having both parented and taught teenagers and young adults, I am acutely aware of the unique struggles this age group can face. Because of this, I believe I bring a rare combination of professional expertise, maternal warmth, and practical empathy to my teaching. I know how to connect with young people at their level, build their confidence, and help them navigate both academic challenges and personal growth.
My references all say the same thing about my kind and caring approach, my strong work ethic, knowledge and understanding of curriculum, and ability to enhance both teams and individuals.

I offer student-centred English reading and writing tutoring designed to build both skill and confidence.
I appreciate that every student is unique, so I meet you exactly where you are today to get you where you want to be. Your goals, interests, and learning style dictate our lesson plans. Mistakes are welcome here—I provide a safe, low-stress space to learn - where we celebrate your wins, big and small, to keep motivation high.
I am highly flexible to suit your needs. For general writing and comprehension, we can start with an assessment to pinpoint your exact strengths and growth areas. Alternatively, you can bring specific school mahi that you need assistance with.
I bring over 20 years of experience teaching in rigorous international schools, specialising in the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. I have a proven track record—and excellent references — demonstrating that even through COVID and online learning, I successfully advanced my students' reading and writing skills to two years above their chronological age.
I am currently accepting students aged 10 to 16. Please reach out for a free first lesson.
