About Jumi
I'm a creative writer who is passionate about teaching young people the art of writing composition. After spending seven years teaching humanities overseas, I returned to the US to pursue an extensive creative writing graduate education. I aspire to become a professor of college literature once I finish my PhD in English.

My lessons are individually focused upon the needs of my student and often involve laughter. I can't imagine teaching without having some fun while doing so. I typically tailor 2-3 writing samples to show my students the craft of writing before I provide writing exercises to help my students practice the art of writing by their own hand. What sets me apart as a tutor is my education: I've been educated at the Iowa Writer's Workshop, which is the world's best writing graduate program. I'm also currently a PhD student in creative writing, so my knowledge of creative writing is expert-level. Most of my lessons are designed for high school students and older, those with an intermediate-advanced level of understanding when it comes to writing composition. I have a strange talent for working with overachievers and those who believe they can beat the odds of admission. Some of the students who've worked with me have been admitted to Harvard, UPenn, Stanford, etc.
