About Katie Saoidhbh

I am a mindfulness teacher as well as an Irish teacher. I worked in Irish language media for seven years as a journalist in print media, on the radio and as a researcher and producer in television. For 7 years I have been teaching Irish online with Oideas Gael and Gaelchultúr as well as teaching mindfulness and meditation to families, children and adults in English and Irish. I learned Irish in school like everyone else in Ireland and I was sent to the Gaeltacht every summer from first year to sixth and that is where I learned fluency in the language. It suddenly became a living language and not a book language and I want to help other people realize that as well. Irish is a method of communication, as well as being a huge part of our heritage, our culture and our heritage.

About the lesson

Lessons can be 30 mins, 45 minutes or 60 mins. We will focus more on spoken Irish, Irish that can be used in everyday life. I want you to be able to talk to someone and to use Irish as a method of communication. We will go through grammar as it comes up. We will use pictures, articles and stories in the class. We will vary up what we do each week so that it never gets boring and the classes, games and activities will be fun. These classes are for anyone who would like to use Irish as a language, anyone looking to reconnect with Irish or experience it for the first time. I teach students from all over the world and I have a lot of experience working in person and online with Oideas Gael and Gaelchultúr. I have worked in Irish language media for years including television, radio and print media so I know where to find suitable material that will make learning more interesting and very interactive. Classes will be adapted and changed to suit your needs and desires

After the first free 30 minute class, classes are paid for a month in advance on a subscription basis at whatever your preferred rate is.
