About Rebecca
Thanks to the glimpse into a new way of seeing and understanding the world, inspired by my French teacher at primary school, I have been studying and teaching languages around the globe for the best part of my life....and to this very day!
My first love was teaching English as a foreign language and I ran my own language business teaching, translating and interpreting in and around Milan for nearly 10 years.
I then moved to North Africa to teach with the British Council and to discover how French would let me access a whole new set of values and culture. Here, I taught a range of ages from young learners to adult and was heavily involved in curriculum design particularly with our teenage learners and increasing their motivation and confidence.
Returning to the UK after this enriching time abroad, my natural progression was teaching MFL in secondary school. I did my postgrad in Education at Cambridge and then moved on to teaching at some of the top local schools in Hertfordshire. I was also lucky enough to be part of the team in one of the government's newly established lead hub schools for language teaching excellence.

I have taught group and individual lessons and pull on a wealth of resources and experience in order to tailor make lessons for students' needs. I work on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking with a particular focus on recall and revision to consolidate vocabulary and structures. Lesson length depends on learner.
