Secondly, Romina is remarkably attentive, devoted, and diligent. She clearly prepares ahead for our lessons and follows them up with detailed notes of our conversations, explaining what I should have said rather than what I did say in my halting and flawed Italian. As a professional educator myself I am seriously impressed by this level of dedication and thoughtfulness.

But I chose Romina because she has a serious linguistic background, which means she understands the structure of the language in ways that lead to informed lessons and explanations. It is much different from being a native speaker who is not consciously interested in how the language. To me that difference is important.
