About Ric
I have studied the flute with Julius Baker, Samuel Baron, Toshio Takahashi, Jeremy Steig, and Joaquin Oliveros. I
On saxophone I studied with Frank Foster, Joe Allard, Steve Grossman, and Lenny Pickett. On clarinet I studied with Dr. Michael White, Evan Christopher, Donald Ambler, and Perry Robinson. I studied arranging with FrankFoster.
I have performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, RaySantos, Louis Ramirez, Henry Fiol, Treme Brass Band in addition to my own groups that have performed at the NYC Blue Note, B.B. King Blues Club NYC. DBA New Orleans. The last CD by my band, Jambalaya Brass Band,was in the first round of balloting for th Grammys.
I am an inductee of the New York Blues Hall of Fame.
I have taught for 50 years.

About the lesson

I will work on technique and tone/sound in all registers. On the flute I can focus on classical, jazz, and Latin. On the saxophone I will work on extending your register and jazz improvisation. On the clarinet in addition to sound and technique I can work on traditional New Orleans jazz in addition to developing tone and technique.
I’m patient but expect my students to work hard.
