As a math tutor, I understand the subject is difficult. My goal is to tutor a mindset in which students can apply mathematics critically. My methodology changes case by case. If a student is struggling with basic principles, I will revert back to the basics to ensure their understanding and to raise their confidence. On the other hand if a student is excelling, I will provide more difficult examples or try to apply the topic to "real-world" scenarios. Ultimately, my goal is to tutor independence.
I am currently an engineer working for Southern California Edison. I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University and another bachelor's degree in pure physics from the University of Redlands. I have had numerous tutoring positions as an undergraduate and I look forward to fine tuning my craft in teaching/tutoring.
