Jack volunteered in our finance office 3/8/15 to 28/8/15 on a 5 day per week placement. He performed the following tasks:
• Recorded receipt of shop income returns and supporting documentation
• Received and processed shop income returns submitted electronically (email).
• Assisted with basic office administration functions including filing and post duties
• Verified and entered data from shop income returns, solved problems, dealt with queries
• Reconciled daily banking records from shop income returns with banking data downloaded from Oxfam GB’s banking provider (NatWest). Investigated significant differences and actioned them appropriately
• Matched credit card takings with corresponding transaction in the bank accounts, as part of the Bank Reconciliation process.
• Sorted shop expense receipts into Vatable and non-Vatable
• Entered Vatable expenses into a reclaim database
• Ensured financial data was met according to legal criteria when processing gift aid tax reclaims
