About André

André Silvestre is a trumpet player from Lisbon who has been building a diverse career in the world of music. He began his musical studies in the articulated education program, where he completed the 5th grade and developed a strong connection with choral music. He is currently the musical director of the Slava Choir.

Later, he decided to deepen his interest in jazz, completing the course at the Hot Club of Portugal School and subsequently earning a degree in jazz from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, continuing to expand his musical knowledge.

André has performed at festivals and events such as Jardins Abertos 2025, Festa do Jazz 2024, Abril Abriu 2024, Lisboa na Rua 2019, Festival de Jazz de Lisboa 2019, Elétrico RTP 2020, Jazz nas Vilas 2022, Hot Clube International Jazz Day 2023, Algarve Choir Festival 2023, and the Bernardo Sassetti Jazz Festival 2024, among others.

Throughout his career, André has taken part in projects such as the Big Band Júnior, Jazzopa (2024), Bluesa Jazz Orchestra, and *A Paz é a Paz* by UMCOLETIVO, which was part of the “Abril Abriu” performance series at the National Theatre D. Maria II. He has had the opportunity to collaborate and learn from renowned musicians such as Aaron Parks, Ben Street, Gregory Hutchinson, Mark Korovitch, Justin Doyle, Andrea Tofanelli, João Moreira, Gonçalo Marques, Filipe Melo, and Rodrigo Leão, all of whom were valuable influences in his musical growth.

Although his training is primarily rooted in jazz, André has a broad interest in different styles and musical projects. This openness has enriched his artistic expression, allowing him to adapt to varied musical contexts and bring a fresh, dynamic approach to every project he undertakes.

About the lesson

The lessons range from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on the students’ ability and needs.

For these lessons, students need to have basic knowledge of the instrument (for trumpet, please refer to the instrument lessons available on my profile, which, in addition to the material described below, also cover basic instrument technique).
