About Alexander
I am a graduate of Grant MacEwan University (Jazz Performance), York University (BFA Jazz Performance), and RCM Toronto (ARCT). I have been teaching and guiding students for RCM examinations, university and college applications, and general improvement since 2009. My approach is to first hear and understand the needs of the student and then apply my expertise to achieve goals.

My method is a practical application of music theory. As a working musician and professional jazz pianist I offer exceptional knowledge in improvisation as well as classical technique. Each lesson plan is adapted to the goals of the student. A typical lesson for a student not interested in formal examinations or competitions will include a piece or pieces chosen by the student, a piece chosen by me to promote technique growth, and each lesson will include some kind of theory as it applies to what the student is learning. Lessons geared toward examination or competition will focus on its requirements. These lessons are geared toward beginner and intermediate students.
