About Marty
My name is Marty, and I value myself (above all else) as a musician - to me, musicality is the key to making yourself (and everyone around you) sound good, and is the best way to become an excellent player or writer.
For me, teaching is such an exciting way to share the gift of music with others, and I love learning about my students' different approaches to music just as much as I love teaching it. Finding the ways that make you and the music click is the absolute goal, and when you really understand how to tackle it - be it practise, performing, writing, etc. - everything else falls into place and you get tojust enjoy the process of learning.

For all my students, the focus is on what you want to learn. If you're a player, we'll look at the genres/styles you love, and find the best ways to get you excited to get practising.
For music theory and jazz, we'll focus on what approaches work for you, and the best ways to make sense of the deep topic of how music works for your brain.
I've been studying music for 12 years now, and it's something that I love sharing with people - in particular, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience, instead of you losing interest in something you really don't want to do. Practise is hard work, but it should be fun to get the most out of it!
If you want to study Trombone, I can teach you until Grade 8, for other Brass and for Music Theory up to Grade 5 and for Jazz, up to an advanced level. I can teach from any age, and from any level below what I've listed.
