I have been teaching bouzouki online for many years and was probably the first teacher in Greece to teach bouzouki online.
In our time, the development of technology and especially the Internet has created new ways in which we can come into contact with information, art and knowledge.
I am a fan of technology and have been convinced from the beginning that online courses can be of the same standard as face-to-face courses under certain conditions.
Long-distance communication is already possible, as is the possibility of online education and training.
Instructional videos are growing daily and are often available for free, but the advantages of two-way communication and the need to be guided by an instructor make video calling the ideal medium for online instruction.
Video calling as a digital medium provides the online "space" between teacher and student, just as the classroom is the physical space in a live classroom.
So the teacher is challenged in both cases, either online or live, to impart knowledge in the best way.
However, in online courses, this knowledge needs to be enhanced and transferred to the student through additional digital tools.
Skype, Messenger, etc. do not have additional pedagogical tools. Online courses can be surrounded by an extended digital environment, with modern and integrated teaching tools that are available not only during the video call, but also after the end of the course, i.e. in the study.
With this approach, I offer my students free online access to a modern bouzouki study platform.
The teaching material of my lessons, i.e. the scores of the songs, the exercises and the theory are available through the online platform and you will see them on your screen, on a computer or tablet.
The scores are digital, with high quality images and sound! They play music, which means you will hear the exercises and songs exactly as they are written, and this will help you to better understand and play each score.
As the material grows from lesson to lesson, you will always have access to the scores and audio files from the previous lessons.
In addition, you can print the score you want, or download the score as a document (pdf) for offline use.
