I’ve known James since Year 8, and we've remained close friends all the way through to our university days.

From the very beginning, James has stood out as someone with an unwavering passion and dedication to mathematics, it’s rare to meet someone so deeply committed to a subject for so many years.

While I’ve often joked about him choosing a more “lucrative” path, James has always remained focused on maths. It’s not just a subject to him, it’s something he genuinely enjoys, understands deeply, and loves to share with others.

Why do I trust him as a tutor? Because for six years, James was the go-to person for help in our year group. After every maths exam, a crowd of us would come to him with questions, and he’d patiently work through each problem until we understood it. He never rushed, never made anyone feel silly for asking, just quietly, consistently helped, every time.

His teaching style is relaxed, thorough, and incredibly supportive. I’ve never seen him lose his temper or show frustration (except when talking about his favourite band, vulfpeck).
Even when I was too embarrassed to ask a question, James would always find a way to make the concept click diagrams, analogies, whatever it took.

If you’re looking for a nonjudgemental, easygoing tutor who’s not only brilliant at maths but also genuinely gifted at explaining it, I wholeheartedly recommend James. He’s the kind of person who was born to teach.

An absolutely brilliant teacher. Without James, I would've struggled to get through my A-level exams. He explains Maths concepts with clarity while keeping things concise. Any question you ask him, he's got an answer, and often finds inventive ways to show you. Knowledgable in Pure and Applied Maths, his help developed my integration, differentiation and statistics skills from average to my strongest subjects.
