About Augustus

I'm a rising junior at Brown, studying history and economics. I've taken several classes in the French department, have French friends, and lived with a host family in French last summer. My passion for language learning inspired me to begin Japanese a year ago. Learning a language so different from English and French has deepened my understanding of grammar and learning across languages. I love French film and literature and would love to share this passion with you!

About the lesson

I try to speak as much French as possible focusing on immersive lessons to build a strong foundation. My focus on lively conversation and my perspective as a language learner (French, Japanese) sets me apart from other tutors. Unlike native speakers, I understand the challenges of French grammar and how to teach it effectively. On the other hand, my lived experience in France gives me the skills to get students speaking naturally and understanding a wide variety of input sources.
