About Selet
Hi! I’m Selet, a junior at Hunter College on the pre-med track, with a 4.0 GPA after completing challenging courses like General Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, and Statistics. Mathematics has always been a natural passion for me—I love the challenge of solving problems and the rewarding feeling that comes after working through tough questions. I’ve never shied away from Maths assignments because I find joy in the process, and I want to share that enthusiasm with my students. My goal is to make Maths feel like an exciting escape into problem-solving, helping you find the same sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in every solution. Let’s explore Maths together!

My teaching approach in Mathematics emphasizes understanding concepts and theories before solving any problems. I believe that mastering these fundamentals helps students tackle challenging questions with ease. I create an interactive environment, breaking down complex ideas and encouraging questions. A typical lesson starts with a review, followed by a detailed explanation of new concepts based on the student’s syllabus. I guide them through example problems before allowing them to solve questions independently, offering support as needed. Each session ends with a recap and practice assignments. What sets me apart is my balance of guided learning and independent problem-solving, tailored to each student’s needs. My tutoring is ideal for undergraduate students in STEM fields, especially those looking to strengthen their skills in Calculus, Algebra, or other foundational courses.
