Fun is my teaching model, with an emphasis on no judgement. Learning an instrument is far too difficult, if it is without having fun. This doesn’t mean I have a structure-less free for all tutor session, but I like to listen to what goals the student has and do my best to get them to feel as though they are learning what they want to be focused on, as well as making sure the fundamentals are not forgotten about, and we form that wonderful foundation, that will be able to support all your musical desires for many years to come.

When it comes to the actual mechanics or playing an instrument, I taught myself how, with the help of being lucky enough to be extremely driven to succeed. However, I feel this path helps give me a unique approach for helping other’s learn, as well as helping to keep my vocabulary closer to that of a beginner, which I know would always intimidate me about “trained” teachers.
However, I have taken classes to get some insight of music theory, as well as spending hours each week learning about a multitude of topics/techniques. I can also help anyone who wants to read music, get a jump start, with a “101” style class on the basics.
