I have a degree in Communications Studies from the University of Windsor. I’ve worked for the CBC for years and then became a real estate agent. I am now retired and looking to do something fulfilling right now.

I think I would use the ‘slow release’ technique: I would demonstrate, talk it through and then we do it together. I would slow down my speech, have the students understand and acknowledge the basic knitting steps and terms. Making it very simple and slow helps to build up little little success’ so the students can
go on to more in-depth techniques and skills.

I believe knitting is therapeutic and so I want everyone to enjoy the benefits of knitting. I would not charge hefty amounts of money, just fair market rate.
