Living in France for three years taught me just how powerful language is in connecting with people and understanding culture. Learning the local language didn’t just make life easier, it helped me truly belong.

Now back in Malaysia, I’m passionate about helping expats experience the same. I offer friendly and practical Malay lessons to help you confidently navigate daily life, connect with locals, and feel more at home. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve, I’m here to support your journey into the heart of Malaysian culture.

About the lesson

Whether you're an expat living in Malaysia or an international learner, my lessons are tailored to help you improve in both conversational and written Malay. I focus on real-life, practical situations to make learning not just useful, but fun too!

My teaching style is chill and relaxed, so if you're looking for a laid-back environment to learn at your own pace, you're in the right place.

Lessons typically run for 1 to 1.5 hours, but I’m happy to extend the time if you’d like to dive deeper into certain topics.

You'll also get access to personalized materials and interactive exercises designed to keep you motivated and progressing with confidence.

Perfect! Azahar has done a fantastic job helping me learn the Malay language. He is professional, friendly, and also quite fun to talk to for conversation practice. He is always prepared, on-time, and clearly puts thought and effort into our lessons.

I especially appreciate that Azahar has firsthand experience living in a foreign country and learning the local language there. This makes for a more understanding and forgiving environment when I inevitably make mistakes, which is crucial when learning a language. I also appreciate the way he tailors our lessons to ensure that the topic and vocabulary are both relevant and practical to me, as opposed to doing cookie-cutter lessons straight out of a BM workbook for Malaysian primary school students.
