About Yana

I have experienced immigration twice in my life, and I deeply understand what it feels like for a child to begin learning a completely unfamiliar language — one that can seem intimidating at first.

I speak four languages, and my own learning journey has shaped the way I teach. It helped me understand how languages are truly acquired — not only through grammar and rules, but through confidence, emotional comfort, and real communication.

Along my path, I was fortunate to meet inspiring teachers who didn’t just teach me English, but helped me fall in love with it. This is exactly what I aim to pass on to my students.

For me, language learning is also about stepping out of your comfort zone in a gentle, supported way. I help children gradually adapt to an English-speaking environment, build confidence, and start seeing English not as something scary, but as a natural part of communication — almost like having a new friend.

My goal is to help children not only learn English, but feel confident using it in real life 🤍

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Yana, I’m 19, I speak four languages, and I’m an English tutor for children based in Canada. I have a C1 level of English and regularly communicate with native speakers, which helps me bring natural, real English into my lessons.

I specialize in conversational English and teaching the basics to young learners. My goal is to help children start speaking confidently from the very beginning — without fear of mistakes and in a calm, supportive environment.

I use interactive flashcards, visual learning techniques, and other engaging methods to make lessons clear, fun, and easy to follow. Each lesson is fully adapted to the child’s age, personality, and learning style.

I can speak Serbian, Ukrainian, and Russian, and I also use English as much as possible during lessons to gently immerse children in the language while still making them feel safe and understood:)
