About Dongwook

I am a Korean martial arts master with 30 years of training and professional experience. I majored in Taekwondo at a university in South Korea and hold 7th-degree black belts in Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Tukgong Moosul. I am also a member of USA Taekwondo and a two-time international gold medalist.

My teaching approach combines traditional Korean martial arts values with safe, structured, and personalized instruction. I teach both traditional Taekwondo techniques and practical applications for real-life situations. Lessons also incorporate physical conditioning designed to build strength, endurance, discipline, and mental resilience.

I specialize in helping children develop confidence, focus, respect, discipline, and physical fitness, while helping women learn practical self-defense and situational awareness. Every lesson is taught with patience, professionalism, and careful attention to each student’s ability, safety, and personal goals.

About the lesson

Each premium in-home lesson is customized to the student’s age, experience, physical ability, and personal goals. Children will develop confidence, discipline, focus, coordination, fitness, and practical self-defense skills through safe and structured martial arts training. Women can receive personalized instruction focused on situational awareness, effective self-defense, fitness, and confidence.

Lessons combine techniques from Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Tukgong Moosul and are available for individuals, siblings, or small private groups. Eligible Taekwondo students who complete the required training and testing may have the opportunity to earn an official Kukkiwon Dan certificate and black belt, subject to Kukkiwon’s rules and requirements. Martial arts training and recognized achievements may also be included in a student’s extracurricular record for college applications, although admission results are never guaranteed.

Training also emphasizes confidence, awareness, avoidance, de-escalation, and appropriate responses to bullying. I travel directly to your home, providing professional instruction in a comfortable and convenient environment.
