About Hazel
***All in-person lessons are held at the downtown VPL or another public places. *** Hi! I’m Hazel, your Korean tutor. I used to be a stage actor in Korea, so I know how to train your pronunciation, intonation, and tone in a professional way. I’ve also worked as a writer, which means I can help you with grammar, spelling, and precise expressions. I’ve taught Korean to English-speaking students in Canada, so I can explain everything in English—whether you’re a beginner or advanced learner. In my lessons, I create custom materials based on your interests, and after each class, I send you a detailed lesson note. If you want, I can even guide you with Korean acting-based pronunciation and tone exercises!

I design lessons based on your personal interests, so learning Korean feels fun and meaningful. We focus on real conversation, giving you plenty of opportunities to speak naturally.
I guide you in creating your own sentences, and I provide precise corrections for pronunciation and intonation to make your Korean sound more natural.
I also believe that input is just as important as speaking, so we practice reading novels, listening to songs, and even doing dictation exercises to improve your comprehension and reinforce new vocabulary.
Together, we set achievable goals for your level, and after every class, I send you a detailed lesson note to help you review and keep learning effectively.
