About Me
Hello! I am Dr. Kuljeet Singh, a History lecturer with a PhD in History from the University of Jammu and UGC-NET with JRF qualification.
I have several years of college-level teaching experience, and History has always been more than just an academic subject to me. It is something I genuinely enjoy studying, researching and teaching.
My interest in History began during my student years and eventually led me to pursue it for my higher education and doctoral research. Today, when I teach, I see History as the story of human beings, their struggles, their achievements and the ways in which societies have evolved over time.
My aim is to help students understand this story rather than simply memorise dates, names and events.
I offer personalised History lessons for school students, college and university students, and learners preparing for competitive examinations.
My areas of teaching include:
- Ancient Indian History: Early societies, civilisations, political developments and cultural traditions.
- Medieval Indian History: Dynasties, political institutions, religious movements, society and culture.
- Modern Indian History: Colonial rule, resistance movements, the freedom struggle and modern India.
- World History: Major civilisations, historical transformations, revolutions and the development of societies.
- Early Medieval Kashmir: Regional history, literary traditions and cultural developments.
I can also help college and university students understand their History syllabus, prepare for examinations, develop conceptual clarity and improve their historical writing.
I believe that History becomes interesting when we understand the people and circumstances behind historical events.
Instead of asking students to memorise information without understanding it, I encourage them to explore why events happened, how societies changed and what historical developments meant for the people who experienced them.
My classes focus on clear explanations, historical context, meaningful examples and discussion. I adapt my approach to the student's level, syllabus and learning objectives.
Whether you find History difficult, want to improve your examination preparation or simply wish to understand the past more deeply, I will help you approach the subject with greater confidence.
