About Jake
I am a Canadian/Polish student here in Dundee having recently achieved a first class honours Masters of Arts in Politics and European Languages. I have learnt several languages and currently speak multiple languages fluently, including French, German, and English. I have taught languages and essay writing skills in both formal and informal settings. I am also well versed in Politics and International Relations to an advanced level, having specialised in Human Rights and Minority Political Theory.

I recognise the uniqueness of each individual, especially when it comes to learning and I take care to ensure customised lessons that work you or your child. I believe that my passion for the languages I speak and for politics are vital to how I teach. I can't think of anything better than helping someone learn a language because I see enormous value in language!
You might have noticed that I am not a native German or French speaker, so why hire me, right? Well I see it has an advantage! I've been in the same position learning the languages I know whats hard and I have countless strategies that I have developed. I believe learning a language is different for everyone and that everyone eventually finds a combination of strategies and tricks that works for them! Furthermore, I am familiar with the varying levels of language skill and the testing done at each stage, also from first hand experience! Having lived in Germany for several years and immersing myself in French culture, combined with studying both languages at a degree level have resulted me in achieving fluency!
