About Lauren
I live right in the heart of Spain in its vibrant capital, Madrid. Achieving fluency in the language and adapting to the wonderful Spanish culture has completely changed my life and constantly inspires me to keep teaching the language so that others may have the same opportunities. I work in Madrid as a languages teacher, by day in a nursery and evenings and weekends i work with children aged 6 and up as well as adults giving theoretical and conversation classes. I am extremely passionate about my work as there is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students build confidence in a new language and achieve their learning goals!
We all know that learning languages is a highly valued skill and now that I have moved to Spain I can really see that there is no end to the incredible opportunities that language learning gives to you. Immersing yourself in a language is not just thinking in your native language and translating it into another. My favourite thing about languages is the fact that each one is unique and coded by its own culture. For that reason, i love to combine cultural knowledge with my theoretical teachings in order to offer an enriching learning experience that enables students to fully interact with the language they are learning - i believe it's the best way to achieve fluency!

Goal-oriented Spanish lessons tailor-made to each individual student. 7 years of experience tutoring both children and adults at different levels (beginner, GCSE, A-Level).
Are you a beginner who would like to broaden their horizons and learn a new language? Got a Spanish holiday coming up and want to build your confidence in the language? Do you need to pass your GCSE/ A-Level or improve your grade? Do you need conversation practice to build your confidence speaking the language? I adapt my lessons to the individual needs of my students, making sure that they reach their full potential whilst having fun!
My degree in Spanish language and culture and the 2 years i have lived in Spain mean that in my lessons i not only teach the language but also include cultural information to enrich my students' learning and fuel their enthusiasm. It is important to me that my students understand the infinite benefits of language learning - not only to pass an exam or get by on holiday, but to truly experience another culture and way of life.
Classes are 1hr and include grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing listening and speaking practice (as well as cultural insights). Purely conversation classes are also available! Depending on the level, classes are taught in English or Spanish.
