About Laura
I studied classical piano under the tutelage of world renowned pianist, musicologist and lecturer, Beryl Chempin at her home in Moseley, Birmingham (in conjunction with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire). During my studies, I achieved high distinctions in Grades 1-8 ABRSM piano, including the highest mark in the UK for my grade 8 piano examination, and proceeded to study music further at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Abbey College after being awarded scholarships. I began performing as a solo pianist in my teen years under Beryl’s direction and played numerous recitals and competitions including famous works by Beethoven, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Chopin and many more. Alongside the piano, I studied classical singing with Andrea Calladine and Alison Chamberlain and achieved grades 1-7 ABRSM. My singing performing career began at the young age of three where I sang with Bournville Children’s Choir, as well as the CBSO Children’s and Senior Youth Choruses, and the National Youth Training Choir of Great Britain. I regularly participated in music festivals, including the International Eisteddfod, in Llangollen (Wales). Much valuable experience was gained from this early exposure, including many tours around Europe and the privilege of working with some of the world’s best artists. I have continued putting my knowledge, skills and experience to good use over the past two decades through private tutoring, music curriculum teaching and accompanying musical events for schools and private individuals in my home county, Worcestershire. I have a specialism and passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) and have developed a bank of effective teaching and learning strategies to support an inclusive practice. I teach from age 4 upwards and have a 100% pass rate for those who have taken graded examinations. More information can be found here: (concealed information)

Individual and group lessons are offered in person or online to fit in with your commitments. Lessons can be taken at my studio near Worcester (WR6) or online. If you are interested in graded examinations, I follow the ABRSM syllabus. However, I am happy to support requests for alternative exam boards (e.g. Trinity, LCM, RSL). I have a 100% pass rate for current and past pupils. I offer lessons in the following: Piano: beginner to intermediate Classical and Popular singing: beginner to intermediate Music Theory: beginner to intermediate
