About Alicia

I pride myself in recognizing the challenges that many people face in school. I have always been the person to help others and to take the extra step in order to see my peers succeed. I was a student peer support in high school, and I was a teacher assistant for my co-op in high school. In college I would share my notes from lectures and took initiative to create study groups in order to help others. After college I still am in contact with some of my former classmates and we still ask each other questions and help each other. Every day we can learn something new, having the opportunity and space to share our thoughts and ask questions is something that I value and want to extend to other students.

About the lesson

I believe that with patience and dedication towards helping students understand the subjects. I know that it can be hard to grasp some concepts especially if you are not interested or find it difficult to understand. My goal is to make the subject interesting and relate it to the interests of the individual to keep them engaged and absorb the information. For them to succeed means that I succeed, it is rewarding for everyone involved. I struggled in school until I learned how to manage my schoolwork in a way that kept me motivated and I want to be able to help others to succeed without having to be discouraged by their current academic levels.
