About Joseph
I had an 800 on verbal SAT, top 10 in my graduating class, 3.9 GPA undergrad, won multiple awards for essays I've written as early as middle school, had 170 LSAT, was member of the St. Mary's University Law Journal, hold a J.D. from same institution. At every level, all the way to being a lawyer, I chalk my success up to my lifelong love affair with the written word.
But the focus isn't on me. My focus is on you. Talking to you, getting to know you, to understand where you're at with English, with your relationship to the written word, reading it and putting pen to paper yourself, then devising the proper pedagogical strategy to figure out how to impart some of the skills I've learned to you, so you can learn to love the written word as I do.

Depending on the particular sub-subject of English that we are doing together, I will first give a short pre-quiz to ascertain where I think you're at with the written word and where you most need to improve to get you where you need to go. I'll also make sure to ask you what your goals are so we can most effectively address them. I've always loved English, but if it's not your pedagogical or career focus, I won't try to mold you into a mini-me.
Then, we'll take a look at the curriculum and schoolwork that you've been assigned, and I'll take my assessment of you from the pre-quiz to see how rudimentary I'll have to break down the concepts into to best approach the subject.
i am able to teach lessons in both the "writing" and "reading" aspect of English for any level of education from the youngest up through high school and college to postgraduates and professional school-ers (law school included!) looking to sharpen their professional writing skills.
