About the lesson

As a senior software engineer with over 24 years of industry experience, and I specialise in helping learners build solid, real-world software development skills. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals — whether you’re a complete beginner, a university student needing support, a junior developer looking to level up, or someone switching careers into tech. My teaching approach: I focus on practical understanding, not just theory. I’ll teach you how and why things work, using real examples from my experience working with enterprise systems in C#, .NET, SQL, and Azure. I encourage questions, use diagrams and hands-on coding, and I can guide you through code reviews, refactoring, and test-driven development. Lesson format: Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes long, depending on your needs. I offer structured topics or ad-hoc help (e.g. debugging, coursework support, mock interviews, pair programming). What I teach: C# and .NET (including ASP.NET MVC and Razor Pages) Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing SQL (SQL Server and Oracle) and MongoDB DevOps with Azure Pipelines and CI/CD Legacy code migration and best practices All lessons are online and available for students aged 16+, including GCSE/A-Level Computer Science students, university students, and adult learners.
