About Olivia

Hi everyone! My name is Olivia, and I am a native Korean speaker raised in Seoul, South Korea.
I have experience assisting teachers at a Korean language school in the United States and can help students understand both formal Korean and the everyday expressions, idioms, and modern slang that native speakers use today.
My goal is to help students develop not only their language skills but also a deeper understanding of how Korean is actually spoken and used in real-life situations.
As someone who has experienced both Korean and American educational environments, I understand that learning and maintaining a language can sometimes feel challenging. I strive to create a friendly, supportive, and comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I believe language learning should be both effective and enjoyable, and I hope to help students build confidence and enjoy the learning process while improving their Korean.

-Students interested in speaking more naturally and understanding how Korean is actually used in everyday life

What will we do in class?
-Improve conversational Korean through natural discussions on topics of your choice, such as K-dramas, K-pop, Korean culture, Korean novels, current evens, or everyday life.
-Optional reading practice using Korean novels, articles, or other materials that match your interests to improve reading comprehension and expand vocabulary
-Learn useful vocabulary, idioms, and commonly used expressions
-Improve pronunciation and speaking confidence
-Review grammar when needed to strengthen communication skills

My teaching approach
-Conversation-based and personalized to each student's interests and goals
-Focus on practical communication rather than memorization alone
-Encourage students to actively speak, ask questions, and express their ideas
