About Robert
I’ve been a professional television editor for nearly 30 years, working on promos, trailers, network specials, first looks, branded content and longer-form pieces. Avid Media Composer has been at the center of my workflow for most of my career, and I’ve also trained other editors on how to use it effectively.
I’m patient, easy to work with, and I like explaining things in a practical way. I understand what it’s like to learn a complicated editing system, so I try to make Avid feel less intimidating and more intuitive. My goal is to give students the confidence to work faster, stay organized and make better creative decisions in the edit.

I teach Avid the way I learned it — by actually editing. We’ll work through real-world workflows, from setting up a project and organizing media to cutting scenes, working with music and sound, trimming, effects, color correction and final delivery. I can teach beginners starting from scratch or experienced editors who want to get faster and more comfortable with Avid Media Composer.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years editing professionally in television, and I’ve also trained editors on Avid workflows. My goal is to teach you not just where the buttons are, but how to think and work like an editor so you can sit down at an Avid and actually get the job done.
