About Audrey

Experienced and Passionate Mandarin Instructor Over a decade ago, I moved from Japan to the United States and began my journey as a Chinese language instructor. For the past 10+ years, I have been teaching Mandarin at a respected university, where I have had the privilege of educating over 400 students. My students gain not only proficiency in the language but also a deep appreciation for Chinese classical texts, culture, cuisine, and entertainment. Beyond university teaching, I have extensive experience as a private tutor and currently serve as a teacher at a local Chinese school, where I teach K-12 students both the language and the rich cultural heritage of China. I warmly welcome learners from all backgrounds to join my classes. I’m a native Mandarin speaker fluent in three languages with expertise in East Asian Languages and Economics. My structured lessons focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing, emphasizing repetition for long-term retention. Suitable for learners at all levels.

I employ a structured, repetition-based learning approach tailored for Chinese, a language with a complex character system. Lessons emphasize listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, character origins, writing, grammar, and sentence patterns, culminating in quick reviews and targeted practice for long-term retention.
